There is a new way to learn how to become a pilot. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has created a new pilot rating called Sport Pilot. This new rating has enabled students to become pilots for a lot less money and time and is easier for training. This Sport Pilot rating allows pilots to fly what’s Light Sport Aircraft (LSA). LSA have alot less controls and instruments than conventional planes. This makes it so much easier to fly and quicker to learn than traditional airplanes.

The FAA created this new rating to make it easier to get flying instead of spending months in a classroom. The basic requirements to become a Sport Pilot are;

Must be at least 17 years of age

Have a valid state driver's license

Proficient in the English language

Be able to affirm general good health and not using substances or medications that impede judgment, cognition, or motor skills

Sport Pilot and LSA were created to stimulate growth in the aviation industry by proving an easier aircraft to fly and quicker training. This combination provides student pilots a chance to become a pilot cheaper than ever before. You can build hours in our plane towards any rating you wish to progress to, private, instrument, commercial and jet. These ratings were created to stimulate pilot growth and help the World wide pilot shortage that is keeping planes on the ground everyday.

The minimum time for achieving a sport pilot certificate to fly an airplane is 20 hours. Those training hours will include ground schooling, instructor assisted flying, cross-country flying (departing one airport and landing at another), and solo flights. The number of days or weeks required to log those 20 or more hours of instruction is really up to you.

A major disaster just occurred January 4th, 2010. All 49 passengers, pilot and co-pilot were killed. After investigations by the National Transportation Board, the FAA and many more agencies. The conclusion was; number one the pilot and co-pilot were texting on their cell phones; number two the pilot pulled up and stalled the plane which sent them into a spiral to the ground. All pilots should know the minute a problem occurs to keep the nose down and keep up the speed. They also found out that the co-pilot had very few hours and most of them where in a simulator. It is now causing the FAA to possibly raise the minimum required hours to obtain a commercial pilot’s license to 1,500. In our LSA you not only feel and learn how to handle a plane, you can build your hours in this plane to count towards future pilot ratings. No one can afford to pay an instructor, an aircraft and buy the fuel; for 1,500 hours versus our plane being so inexpensive and only burning 4-5 gallons per hour. We are perfect for training anyone in all aspects of flying and without the need of an airport. This plane can be equipped for a private pilot to obtain his commercial rating by adding a few instruments.
